SONGWRITERS’ CIRCLE

The Songwriter’s group seeks to link songwriters who want to share their work with others for the purpose of feedback and encouragement. We encourage everyone to share their most recent song at each meeting.  This serves to both give songwriters an audience to try out new material and to encourage each other to compose on at least a monthly basis.  Let’s face it: a lot of creative types can get discouraged and lazy.  The songwriter’s group will challenge you to write a new song every month.  Bring a song and be prepared to talk about it along with your practices and philosophies of songwriting.

Is this group for everyone?

Not really.  We welcome any songwriter, no matter what experience level, but please have something to share.  We ask that you bring a song.  Not a riff, chord progression, rough lyrics or poem, but a song in at least listenable state that people can comment on.

What should I bring?

Bring your instrument of choice.  Please don’t expect to borrow an instrument from a stranger.  Bring a guitar, mandolin, banjo, tuba, whatever.  Sadly, we don’t have a keyboard but if you would like to bring one, we won’t stop you—we’d probably like it even.  A nice idea would also be to bring copies of the lyrics to your song as well.

Are there any membership requirements?

Not at all, but we will pass the hat.  Wild Goose Creative is a non-profit entity.  If people can pitch in a buck or two to defray the costs of running the heat and lights it will be much appreciated.  However, if you don’t we won’t kick you out.
