ANDY ANDERSON
ANDY ANDERSON
Bio
Andrew Anderson has considerably more grey hair than he did when he joined up with Wild Goose Creative in March 2008, but he blames this more on heredity than on the organization. Since joining, he has discovered his strengths (Input, Ideation, Intellection, Connectedness, and Communication), learned how to run sound at WGC Presents events, helped out a lot in the kitchen, been called the “pied piper of bacon” by a noteworthy blogger, and been up a ladder far more times than he would have expected given his lack of gross motor skills.
He has finally entered the dissertation phase of his Ph.D. degree at the Ohio State University and is currently researching the connections between Absurdist Theater and Francophone and Colonial Literature and Culture. During the day he can usually be found in the Thompson Library or in his office in Hagerty Hall. At night, however, he can usually be found cooking, eating, reading, grading papers, or working Wild Goose events.
Andrew and wife Amanda, two of the only members not to have moved into a house in the last three years, decided that despite a lack of mortgage funds, they too wanted to move and chose a nice double that was not only closer to work, but also to everything Goose related. They are very happy there and still live with their rabbit Wally.
Artistic Interests
Andrew’s joys in life include good scotch and rye whiskey, a nice theater piece, absurd British comedy, music by The Swell Season, Neil Diamond, The Who, Maxime le Forestier, Abd Al Malik; books by Salman Rushdie, E.E. Cummings, Samuel Beckett, Eugene Ionesco, Alain Robbe-Grillet, and others; and good cold beer by whoever happens to strike his fancy at a given moment.
Absurdist Theater with an interest in the "outsider" and the "stranger." Playwrights like Beckett, Ionesco, Genet, Pinter, Stoppard, and Albee. He appreciates Shakespeare but is not enamored with him. Apologies.
Poetry, including but not limited to the poetry of James Tate, Charles Simic, Sharon Olds, and E.E. Cummings.
Music – Barenaked Ladies, Martin Sexton, Lifehouse, Georges Brassens, Alain Souchon, Boby Lapointe, The Who, Neil Diamond. He is not ashamed of any of his musical choices.
Musical Instruments – He enjoys playing the guitar, the bass, the djembe, and would probably be up for learning just about anything.

Current collaborations include Poetry Conversations with Ryan Hoke – intermittent “conversations” where he sends Ryan a poem and Ryan must respond with a poem based on or related to that particular poem within 48 hours. Recently this has been a bit hindered by the enormous changes in housing and schooling that have taken place.
A forthcoming book of poetry entitled not at all the same that includes a great deal of prose poetry that is as innovative as it is frightening. Roughly 96 pages long and completed since the end of August, the project is just waiting for a break in the dissertation action to either go to a professional press or to be home printed. Copies currently available by request at a price of $10 a piece. Just send him an e-mail. He’ll get back to you ASAP.
Active member of the WGC Sketch Comedy group. This has provided much needed stress relief and fun for him.
At some point in the future(?) he will be a part of a yet-to-be-named music group along with other members of WGC. He will likely play the bass, although he’d love to play the guitar and learn how to play the drums as well.
